Robert W. Groeneweg, age 75, of Forest Lake, died, Sunday, March 27, 2005 at the Lake Ridge Health Center in Roseville. Robert was born February 8, 1930 at home in Balaton, Minnesota, the son of John and Louise (Cox) Groeneweg. He graduated from Balaton High School and went on to further his education at Northwestern College. Robert served our country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1952. After his medical discharge he returned to Minnesota where he was united in marriage to Linda Wicklund on June 25, 1955. He was employed as a semi truck driver with Midwest Motor Express. He also drove bus for Richfield Bus and Lorenz Bus Company. He had an insurance agency in St. Louis Park for ten years prior to driving truck. Robert was an AWANA leader for nine years. He was an excellent singer and was often asked to sing at the nursing home. He also enjoyed gardening, but the biggest joy in his life was his family. He often asked ''how are my munchkins doing?'' He was preceded in death by parents John & Louise Groeneweg; brothers Isaac and Richard; sisters Roberta; granddaughter Aimee Elizabeth. He is survived by his loving wife Linda; children, Kenneth (Donna) Groeneweg, Roberta (Brad) Hansen, Keith (Kelly) Groeneweg, Karlo (Kris) Groeneweg; fifteen grandchildren, Crystal (Shawn) Buchman, Kenneth Reuben Groeneweg, Candi Groeneweg, Naomi Groeneweg, Danielle and Ben Groeneweg, Kaitlin, Emily, Jarod, Abigail, Isaac, Caleb, Jacob, Joshua, Lilyana Louise Hansen. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 1, 2005 at Grace Alliance Church, 432 11th Avenue SE, Forest Lake, MN.
