WW II Naval Veteran and independent insurance agent. He was a former member of Brass D & B Corps and member of American Legion Contest Committee for 24 years but chairman for 17 years. Employee of Landmark Insurance in Forest Lake from August of 1986 until 1992 part-time. Preceded in death by wife, Mae Hensel and son, Robert Hensel. Survived by daughter Sue (Bill) Gordon; grandchildren, Heather Mackenroth and Eric Gordon; great grandchildren, Deven, Taylor and Mandie Mackenroth; two sisters; many nieces and nephews and special friend Fern Cox.
Funeral Service at 11am, Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation from 5-8pm, Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at the funeral home and continue 1 hour prior to services. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Allina. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
