Robert Rudman

Robert "Bob" Leon Rudman, age 72, of Forest Lake, passed away, surrounded by his family, on March 31, 2014 after a long battle with lymphoma. He was born on October 1, 1941 to Albert Leon and Gladys (Ullrich) Rudman in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa - College of Engineering in 1965 and worked for 3M for over 30 years. On July 6, 1996, Bob married Peggy Gourley in McGregor, Minnesota. He volunteered on the Johnson High School Robotics Team and served as Science Fair Judge. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, enjoyed waterskiing, boating and snowmobiling. Bob was athletic and had completed the Twin Cities Marathon. More than anything, Bob was passionate about his grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his wife of 17 years, Peggy; children, Rebecca (Ken Drouillard) Rudman, Barry (Donara) Rudman, Brian (Maizie) Gourley, Kate (Kyle) Bodeker; grandchildren, Abby Reisner, Trevor (Jamie Porter) Reisner, Quincy Rudman, Jack Rudman, Hailey Overholser , Dameon Gourley, Gabby Gourley, Logan Moberg; great grandson, Jacobe Reisner; sister, Elizabeth (Pat) Kessler; nephew, Kenny (Jenna) Kessler, niece, Kathleen (Ben); great nieces, Delila, Violet; great nephew, Victor; and aunt, Adeline Stock. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation one hour prior to service. In honor of Bob's love of the Iowa Hawkeyes, we request you wear black and gold.
