Robert Sonmor

Robert E. Sonmor, age 72, of Pine City, formerly of Forest Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 15, 2013. Bob had a love for telling stories and jokes, using his talent to make people laugh and brighten their day. He had a way of including everyone in everything he did, making sure they felt special in their own way. Bob spent a lot of his time restoring antique vehicles, one of his many and most important interests. He loved to travel, seeing the farmland and meeting people from all walks of life. Bob was proud to say that he had seen and done everything he had ever wanted to do in life. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Roy and Lillian Reese; his brother, Richard Sonmor and his sister, Dawn Odneal. Bob was survived by his beloved wife, Verna of 50 years; his daughters, Kim (Michael) Woehl, Debbie (Jeff) Freedlund and Leanne (Tony) Graf; his sister, Linda (Bob) Stutt; his brother, Tom Adamson; his sister-in-law, Patty Sonmor; special nephew, Donald Odneal; six grandchildren, Brenden Woehl, Evan Woehl, Scott Freedland, Jeremy Freedland, Joshua Freedland and Nathan Freedland; three great grandchildren, Nathan, Hunter and Benjamin and nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to family.
