Roy Forsblade

Roy Edward Arthur Forsblade, Sr., age 88, of Stacy, MN Formerly of Forest Lake. Born on January 23, 1923. Died on April 7, 2011. Preceded in death by parents John Andrew Forsblade and Johanna Maria Hallquist Forsblade. Preceded in death by siblings Ernest, John "Gunnar", Herman, George, Ann, Ted and Eleanor. He is survived by wife of 57 years, Hazel Marie Forsblade; children, Dawn (Douglas) Mauz of San Mateo, CA, Marjorie (Tom) Hohenstein of McBee, SC, Roy (Genny) Forsblade Jr. of Forest Lake, Diane (John) Ratzlaff of Ft. Meyers FL, Roseanne Forsblade of Stillwater, John (Christine) Forsblade of Knapp, WI. Grandchildren; Michelle (Tim) Harris, Jason Traynor, Aaron Traynor, Jamey Rainer, Jeremy Rainer, Brittany Forsblade, Jesse Forsblade, Ashley Forsblade, Elijah Forsblade, Joshua Forsblade, Danny Mauz, Christian Mauz and Debra Mauz. Great Grandchildren; Eric Gardner, Britni Harris, Nicole Olson, Julia Traynor and Kaylee Traynor. Also survived by siblings Emil Forsblade and Ruth Larson; and many neices and nephews as well as great neices and nephews. Roy was an Army Air Force Veteran of WWII. He had been a mail carrier with the St. Paul Post Office, was an avid trapper, hunter, fisherman, and taxidermist. Roy also raised ginseng, becoming so skillful he was able to smell the ginseng when he walked into the woods. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church, 32341 Forest Blvd., Stacy. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
