Ruth Herzog

Ruth Antoinette (Parcells) Herzog passed away peacefully surrounded by immediate family and Little Sisters family on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Ruth was born on May 9, 1929 to Harris & Gladys Parcells in Denver, Colorado. Later her family moved to Minnesota and she graduated from Central High School in St Paul. She met Warren Herzog when he was on leave from the Navy. They were married at The Church of St. Luke in St. Paul on June 21, 1947. At the age of appx. 23 years Ruth contracted polio and the illness impacted her throughout her life. To Warren & Ruth's union, 2 daughters and 2 sons were born and raised on the east side of St. Paul and Ruth was a full-time homemaker. The family enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Bone Lake in Scandia, MN and eventually built a home there. In Sept. 1973, Warren passed away. After attending Lakewood College (Century College) taking secretarial classes, Ruth worked at 3M and Minnesota Mutual over the course of several years.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Warren; daughter, Diane Lorenz; son, Michael and grandson, Luke Lorenz. Survived by daughter, Judy Hinson and son, Bill (Sandy); 3 grandchildren: John Lorenz, Sean Latham, Carissa (Jeff) Roach; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Noren and other extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wed., April 29, 2015 at Little Sisters of the Poor, 330 Exchange Street South, St. Paul. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Lindstrom, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Little Sisters of the Poor.
