Sandra "Sandy" Vaught

Sandra “Sandy” Lee (Nadeau) Vaught, age 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 29, 2022, at her home in North Branch, MN.

Sandy lived on the east side, attended Sacred Heart grade school, and graduated from Johnson High School.  She eloped with Bob to Iowa and got married with his brother and sister-in-law as witnesses.  They spent 27 years together, at first on the east side then moved to Maplewood, where they raised their three kids.  They loved bowling, camping, fishing, had many friends and belonged to the Moose Lodge.  Sandy was employed for over 30 years at Unisys.  She then got her CNA license and did home health care at Little Sisters of the Poor and in private homes, before retiring.  She was a big-time fan of classic cars and even bought her own, a 1956 Buick Riviera Special - Sedan.  She entered it in car shows and even won some trophies!  She was an avid crocheter and was part of a group that met at Mattson Funeral Home to make things for those in need.  She also volunteered her time with many, many different organizations, including doing respite care.She was a lover of animals and had a very kind and generous heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Ruth Nadeau; former husband but forever friend, Robert; infant son, Jimmy; and grandson, Mikhail.

She is survived by sister, Marilyn Nadeau; children, Valarie (Greg) David (Rose), Mary Jo (Brad); grandchildren, Jessica (Lester), Nicholas, Alexandra (Evan), Sonja (Dustin), Marisa (Trae) and Caleb; great grandchildren, Lucas, Drake, Trent, Evelina, Henry, Brody and Isaac; many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2022, at The Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Hugo.

In honor of Sandy's favorite color please wear green or something with green in it to the service.
