Scott Robert Atwater, age 62, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Born on January 16, 1962, in Chisago City, Minnesota, Scott was the beloved son of Vernon and Janet (Swenson) Atwater.
A proud graduate of Chisago Lakes High School, Scott went on to dedicate his career to Gear Grid, where he worked as a powder coater. His coworkers admired his unmatched energy, work ethic, and infectious sense of humor. Scott had a knack for bringing joy to even the most ordinary days. Tuesdays at work became legendary as "Wrestling Voice Tuesday," when no conversation with Scott was complete without a Macho Man Randy Savage impersonation. His charisma made him the life of every room, and his ability to light up conversations earned him a tight-knit and loyal group of friends—which some proclaimed as the “flock of hens."
On January 15, 2016, Scott married the love of his life, Kimberly Stauff, and together they built a life full of laughter, love, and cherished traditions. Whether it was sharing meals at their favorite spot, The Tavern, or indulging in apple crispers from Lindstrom Bakery, their time together was filled with simple yet meaningful joys.
Scott loved being a father and found immense pride and excitement in becoming a grandfather. He adored his dog, Honey, who brought him endless companionship. Scott was an avid gamer, a talented water skier, and a skilled fisherman during his youth on the lake.
Scott’s memory will be carried on by his wife, Kim; his children, Eve Atwater, Megan (Andrew) Winters, Lauren Hanson; his grandchild, Everett Winters; his mom, Janet Atwater; siblings, David Atwater, Cynthia (Howard) Hultman, Sue Landwehr, Candace Atwater, Pam (Doug) Jeans; mother-in-law, Kathy Stauff; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Jennifer) Stauff, Ryan Stauff, Paul (Sunnie) Stauff; beloved dog, Honey; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and a wide circle of friends and coworkers who were touched by his humor, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon; father-in-law, Roger Stauff.
Scott lived life with a full heart and a playful soul. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
