Stanley Max Bernt, age 85
Of Wyoming, MN formerly of Osceola, NE
Passed away January 28, 2008.
Preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jeremy and Jeffrey; brother, Eugene; and sister, Betty.
Mr. Bernt was born July 9, 1922 to Albert & Hilda (Zeleny) Bernt in Osceola, Nebraska. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific from 1943 to1946. He was a lifetime member of Columbus, NE VFW Post 3704.
Stanley worked at G.E.A. & Kosch Manufacturing in Columbus, NE. After moving to Minnesota, he farmed.
He married Gloria Novak September 26, 1946 in St. Mary's Church, Schuyler, NE.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria; children, Margaret (John) Jensen; Daniel (Marti) Bernt, Jane (Wayne) Korf, Tracy (Denny) Wilson, Tom (Mary) Bernt, Philip (Julia) Bernt, Christopher Bernt; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and sisters, Blanche, Grace, Rita, and Alice.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 1, 2008 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Gathering of family and friends, 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday with Rosary and sharing at 7:30 p.m. in Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Interment ceremony to be held in early spring at Holy Cross Cemetery, Schuyler, NE. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.
