Steven "Kuby" Kubiszewski

Steven “Kuby” M. Kubiszewski, age 34 of Coon Lake, Minnesota died tragically, Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in an automobile accident with his uncle, Arthur as they were heading to a much-anticipated ice fishing trip. Steve was a member of the Goon Squad MC Mother Chapter.

Steve was born December 2, 1984 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the son of Steven McKenzie and Lucille Fremo.  He spent his elementary years on Rice Street, St. Paul and later made his home on Coon Lake, East Bethel.  Steve was a graduate of Forest Lake High School.  Steve “Kuby” was an avid fisherman, hunter and biker. He was a member of Goon Squad MC. Above all, he was a passionate father and always looked forward to time spent with his family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles McKenzie, Joseph and Marlene Kubiszewski.  He will be forever loved and cherished by his parents, Steven McKenzie, Lucille (Brian) Fremo; children, Alexandra, Brayden and Bentley; sister, Jennifer (Gregory) Rouse who Steve looked up to Greg “Yog” as a big brother since he was a little boy; nephew, Deundra “Boo” Kubiszewski; niece, Sanita Rouse; grandmother, Mary McKenzie; girlfriend, Lynette Wilson and son Evan; godparents, June Greeley and Christopher McKenzie; Goon Squad MC Family.

Steve and Arthur were heading to a much-anticipated ice fishing trip when the car they were traveling in was involved in a collision with a semi-truck.  They were on Highway 46 and County Road 36 near Deer River, Minnesota when a semi lost control.

Visitation will be on Friday and Saturday with a combined memorial service, celebrating both of their lives at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.  The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m., until the time of service at the funeral home.  A second gathering will be held from 2:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday at Bradshaw Funeral Home 1078 Rice Street, Saint Paul.
