Thomas Lord

Thomas G. Lord, age 72 of Minong, WI, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI on December 4, 2014 due to complications from pancreatic cancer. Tom was born on May 24, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from South High. He joined the Air Force after high school and served in Spain, Turkey and many other places in the United States. He married Suzanne Victor on February 5, 1966. They met in Waterford, WI when her brother who was also in the Air Force brought him home for a visit. Tom was a proud Union Sprinkler fitter of Local 417 for 35 years. Tom will be remembered by family and friends as a kind man who enjoyed starting up a conversation with everyone he came in contact with. He was always willing to help anyone and always wished everyone the best. He was a great provider, Husband and Father who loved his family and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, George and Emma Lord; in-laws, Edmund and Margaret Victor; grandson, Sullivan Lord; great nephew, Kyle Kissinger. Tom is survived by wife, Suzanne; children, Reed (McCala) Lord, Adrienne (Terry) Sather; grandchildren, Sawyer and Hudson Lord, Addison and Finley Sather; brother, Keith (Connie) Lord; sister-in-law, Karen Lord; brothers and sisters-in law, Joe (Barbie) Victor, Meg (John) Kester, Ned (Linda) Victor, Adrienne (Larry) Ping, Tom (Pat) Victor and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends. A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. The family will greet friends from 1:30 p.m., until the time of service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time. He was a great man who will be missed by many.
