In Loving Memory of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas B Palmer Jr.
Tom a beloved husband, father, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 30th, 2024, at the age of 93 years and 7 months. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Tom dedicated over four decades of his life in service to his country, displaying unwavering commitment and excellence as a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army. His loyalty and leadership were commendable, earning him respect from colleagues and superiors alike.
A skilled military aviator, LTC Tom Palmer soared through the skies as both an airplane and helicopter pilot. His passion for flight reflected his adventurous spirit and determination to excel in every endeavor he pursued. He would often give private airplane rides to friends and family alike.
Beyond his distinguished military career, Tom was a lifer at 3M or as he would call it “Mother Mining.” His loyalty to his job at 3M displayed the type of strong work ethic that was deeply engrained into His hard-working character.
Tom had a youthful spirit with loads of charisma and charm. He also had an insatiable passion for cars and motorcycles of all kinds, finding joy in the freedom of the open road. More recently, he loved driving in his small red Miata convertible, even at age 92!
Yet, WAY above ALL else, his heart belonged to his beloved wife, Dolores, whom he cherished for 68 remarkable years of marriage. Their bond was a testament to enduring love. The formula for their long loving relationship was a mutual passion for their pet dogs and a good dose of traveling abroad. Now they are joyfully reunited in eternal peace (Maybe shopping for more dogs)
Tom’s legacy of kindness, infectious laughter, and genuine love will continue to live on in the memories of those he touched. Though he may have taken his final flight, his spirit will forever soar in the hearts of his loved ones.
May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved Dolores, in the heavenly skies above in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Tom and Dolores had 4 children Lynn, Michele (Dan), Scott, Doug (Denise), 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, daughter Lynn, his parents Thomas Sr. and Viola, brother Clarence and sister Bernadette.
