Thomas A. Tanata, age 64 of Lent Township, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 following a battle with cancer. Thomas was born March 15, 1946 in McLeod County, Minnesota the son of John and Helen (Schaufler) Tanata. Tom was the owner of Rush City TV for over 35 years, thus becoming well known in the area as "TV Tom". He is preceded in death by his father John; son Matthew. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him including his beloved wife Christene; children, Theresa (Dale) Dose, Michael (Susanne) Tanata, Rebecca (Eric) Embacher, Nichole Tanata; grandchildren, Kassandra Dose, Jessika Dose, Kyle Dose, Abigail Embacher, Zachary Embacher, Joselina Tanata; mother, Helen Tanata; siblings, Mary Burrichter, Michael (Jodie) Tanata, John (Wendy) Tanata; many other family and friends and devoted customers. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, 13060 Lake Blvd., Lindstrom. Visitation 4:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake; continuing one hour prior to mass at the church.
