Walden, Thomas
age 79, of Forest Lake, passed away peacefully October 29, 2006.
Preceded in death by father, Virgil M.; daughter, Carol Jean Walden; brother, James Qualls; and sister, Janice Walden Brooks. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Shirley; daughter, Margaret Walden; stepchildren, Renee Kidd, Sean and Trisha Cosgrove; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; step-mother, Martha E. Walden; brothers, Roger (Wendy), Marvin, Michael, Harold; sisters, Ruth Walden Bryant, Virginia Walden Westbrook, Lois Walden Lewis, Zoe Walden Jacobs; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Thomas had worked for the Post Office for 31 years, and was a life member of VFW Post 4210. He had been the coordinator for Fare For All for 20 years, worked with MN Mobile Escorts for 10 years, and taught 55 Alive for 11 years at the Forest Lake Senior Center. For the past 9 years, Thomas started the Forest Lake July 4th Parade. He was also a volunteer driver for the VA and delivered the Forest Lake Times and Peach newspapers with his wife.
Memorial Service 10:30 AM, Friday, November 3, 2006 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Gathering of family and friends 4:30-8:30 PM, Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Mattson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Friday. Interment in Fort Snelling Cemetery.
