Velma Lance

Velma M. Lance, age 91, formerly of Sheldon, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her son's home in Eagle River, Alaska on March 6, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Nora Martin; sister Dorothea Jordan; and brother Lyle Martin. Velma is survived by her children, Rod Betty), Keith (Cindy), Jim (Ann), Bill (Nancy), Gary LaVesta); brother Dallas Martin; sister Fern Molstad; 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and a great great grandson. At the age of 44, Velma was driven to become an LPN and put herself through Nursing School at Greenbay. Following her graduation she practiced in West Salem and Onalaska. After her retirement she enjoyed spending time in Alaska, where she worked at the Boy Scout Camp with Nancy. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2011 at Forest Lake Christian Church, 420 West Broadway, Forest Lake, MN. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to funeral at the church. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Forest Lake, MN.
