Walter Douglas Beckman, age 72 of Stacy, died November 11, 2009 surrounded by his beloved family after a lengthy illness. Walter was born February 18, 1937 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Walter and Lucy (Ruffcorn) Beckman. Following high school, Walter proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him including his devoted wife and caretaker Marge; mother Lucy Beckman;children, Chris (Jim) Hill, Steven (Renee) Beckman, Timothy (Tabitha King) Beckman, Anna (Chris) Spiers, Rhonda (Joe) Findell, Melissa (Brian) Mathena, Jeff (Nancy) Riedemann, Kevin (Kari) Riedemann; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Bessie (Pat) Kenney, Esther Sink, Glenda (Don) Fradenburgh; very special caregiver and friend Ashley Stumm. He was preceded in death by his father; first wife Rita; son Duane Beckman.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Intement at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred.
