Warren Arthur Johnson

Warren Arthur Johnson, age, 93, of Scandia, passed away on January 17, 2024.

Warren was born on May 10, 1930, the son of Arthur and Esther Johnson.  He attended Big Lake one room schoolhouse and graduated from Forest Lake HS in 1948.  Warren worked, alongside his father, on the family farm for many years and later on his own. He loved the land and did all he could to protect and preserve it. He lived his entire life in the farmhouse where he was born leaving there just six weeks ago for care at Birchwood Care Center. Warren was a lifelong member of Elim Lutheran Church, and a longtime member of the Scandia-Marine Lions.    A humble Christian man who loved his family, friends, church and community.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Edryce (Carl) Lund, nephew Richard Lund, brothers-in-law Russ Shane and David Vogt, nephew-in-law Gary Coller and many special aunts, uncles and cousins.  

Lovingly remembered by sister Ruth Vogt, niece Virginia Coller and nephew Ken Lund.

Great nieces and nephews: Ron (Sue) Coller, Michele (Joel) Fusco, Jodi (Joe) Otto, Krista (Greg) Dahling, Jenny (Blair) Studer, Anna (Kevin) Gonzales and Kate (Jon) Proulx as well as many other relatives and friends.  Also survived by his faithful feline friend Tom.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Elim Lutheran Church, located at 20971 Olinda Trail North in Scandia.  Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial at Elim Lutheran Cemetery, Scandia. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Elim Lutheran Church or a local animal shelter. 

Special Thanks to Jolene, Jodi, Sara, Annie, Mary and Wendy for their loving home care, and to Birchwood Care Center where he spent his final days. We will all miss this quiet easy-going man.
