William "Bill" Carlson

William "Bill" Carlson, age 74, of Forest Lake, formerly of St. Paul, passed away peacefully from dementia on February 6, 2023.

Bill was a devoted husband; High School sweethearts and married to the love of his life. Together, they built a loving family and shared his love for cars as avid street rod collectors and MSRA members. Some of his greatest joy came from his 3 sons and teaching them strong work ethics, values, and wood working skills. He loved being outside, working in his yard and taking care of his well-manicured lawn. Bill was generous with his time and would drop everything to help someone when needed. The ‘honey do’ list at home kept growing as he always put others first.

He cherished his grandkids, laughing, and loving them fiercely. It was routine for him to share his lighthearted spirit by joking with them often and sharing his love for sweets.

With great love, comes great loss. He will be deeply missed by his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Margaret Carlson; and brother, Wilfred MaGee of Canada, and his many canine companions.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Cathy (Tourville); children, Mike (Margie), Dave (Lori), Tom (Sheri); brothers, Dan (Valerie), Thomas (Mardi); brother-in-law, Roger Tourville; sister-in-law, Karen (MaGee); 8 grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and Friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, 4-7 PM, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025.
