William “Bill” Morris, age 68, formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died peacefully while surrounded by his family on Monday, June 12, 2023. Bill was born October 28, 1954 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Robert B. and Jeanne M. (nee Thompson) Morris. He was a graduate of DeLaSalle Catholic High School. Following graduation, he worked various jobs in the metro before landing at Midwest Maintenance and Mechanical where he worked for 19 years.
Bill lived in South Minneapolis where he & Mary Anne raised the four boys. The Morris Family were extremely involved in the Incarnation Catholic Church & DeLaSalle High School communities. That tradition of involvement was passed down from generation to generation; attending school and volunteering at many events through the years, including Oktoberfest.
In 2011, his love of outdoors inspired Bill to move north where he continued to enjoy hunting, fishing and sitting by the fire. He was always a man on the go, willing to help out just about anyone with a project or task. He loved sports, from the Minnesota Twins to the Vikings and could never get over the heartbreak of losing the North Stars.
His boys recall many camping adventures on the Rum River, the hockey rink he constructed for them in the backyard and his witty personality, always quick to offer a famous Ole and Lena joke or three. Bill will be forever remembered as a great dad, grandpa and friend to so many. His death will leave an incredible void that will be replaced by the memories he created.
He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved dog, Poopy-Petey; sister, Patty. He is survived by his children, Brian (Christina) Morris, Steven (Michaela) Morris, Tim (Elise) Morris, Ted Morris; grandchildren, Landon, Olivia, Simon, Owen; four-legged friend, Daisy and her new furever family, Bill and Corlyn Miller; mother of his children, Mary Anne (Jeff) Adank; siblings, Bobby, Sister Christian “Mary” OSB, Debbie; countless other family and dear friends.
A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2023 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
